 A TIPIC is an independent contractor, who provides on behalf of a Title
Insurance Producer (TIP) escrow,
closing, or settlement services that may result in the issuance of a title insurance contract.

A Maryland TIPIC must be a commissioned notary as well as licensed by the Maryland Insurance Commissioner to witness documents and conduct business in the state of Maryland.

Notaries public of Access Notary Solutions are not attorneys licensed to practice law in Maryland and are therefore not allowed to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters, including immigration, or charge fees for those activities.

​

By law, we cannot explain or interpret the content of any document, instruct the signer on how to complete a document, or direct a signer on the advisability of signing a particular document.

 

We would be engaging in the unauthorized practice of law, by doing so, and could face legal penalties that include the possibility of incarceration. Signers should address any important questions about their document(s) to the lender, title company, or an attorney.
